Cancellation of World Orchestra Festival 2020

Dear Music Friends,

we had hope that due to the fast and courageous counter measures for the  COVID-19 pandemic by the Austrian Government the situation would ease off in time and the World Orchestra Festival could take place as planned.

Even though with the declining number of new COVID-19 cases in Austria, caution remains as the top priority. Thus the Austrian Federal Government prohibits festivals, large performance activities in Austria until the end of August, in order not to peril the so far very successful containment of the coronavirus.

The World Orchestra Festival Committee is therefore obliged to cancel this year’s festival. Regardless how sad this decision is, one thing is evident – the health of every chorister comes first. In this gloomy time, we must pull together and protect ourselves and our loved ones. It is a tough time for all of us but the power of music will help us and bring light into the darkness.

We are currently already working on next year’s festival, which will take place from July 28th – August 1st, 2021. You are welcome to join the 2021 edition.
